Researchers discovered hundreds of cryptographically weak RSA and DSA keys in production systems caused by implementation bugs in CompleteFTP and other software that generated keys with non-random bit patterns, enabling rapid factorization through polynomial-based attacks rather than traditional brute-force methods.
