Apple is signaling a higher-priced premium tier for its next 14-inch MacBook Pro, with an OLED XDR touchscreen and M5 Pro chip reportedly priced at $2,899—about $400 above the current model. For CIOs, this suggests rising endpoint acquisition costs and a continued shift toward premium hardware differentiation, which could affect refresh cycles, budget planning, and standardization across managed fleets.
