Samsung Galaxy Book laptops may take the Android route
Samsung is reportedly developing a new Galaxy Book laptop lineup running Android 17 and One UI 9, potentially offering budget, mid-range, and high-end models with integrated Galaxy AI features and desktop-optimized capabilities. This strategic move positions Samsung to lead Android's desktop computing expansion and could signal a broader shift toward Android-ChromeOS convergence, reshaping the competitive laptop landscape beyond traditional Windows dominance. Android 17 will introduce a native desktop mode similar to DeX available on flagship Samsung phones. Alongside this, Google will add a new bubble-based multitasking feature to the OS to make it easier to run multiple apps at the same time. It appears Samsung wants to capitalize on these desktop-focused features by launching a Galaxy Book-branded laptop running Android 17 and One UI 9.
