Google overhauls cloud modernization portfolio with new AI agents

Google is consolidating its migration and application modernization capabilities into a single Cloud Modernize umbrella, adding AI agents that can estimate migration costs, analyze environments, and help translate Kubernetes workloads from AWS EKS to GKE. For CIOs, this could reduce tool sprawl, speed modernization decisions, and lower the manual effort required across complex hybrid and multicloud programs, but IT teams will still need to own testing, architecture choices, data migration, and cutover risk.
