Reddit says it is ending support for RSS feeds on November 13 because the feeds are a target for abuse by AI bots and is ending its public API access in March (Sarah Perez/TechCrunch)

Reddit is shutting down RSS support and later its public API access, signaling a continued tightening of platform controls to limit AI bot abuse and other automated access. For CIOs and technology leaders, this is a reminder that critical external data sources can disappear with limited notice, creating operational and strategic risk for analytics, monitoring, and AI workflows that rely on open web feeds or third-party ingestion. IT organizations should expect more gated access across major platforms and prioritize resilient, policy-compliant data sourcing and integration strategies.
