Googlebooks launch October 4 starting at $899—here are the five models you can preorder today

Google’s new Android-powered Googlebooks aim to reposition laptops as premium, AI-capable endpoints with native Android app support, fanless designs, and high-end hardware starting at $899. For CIOs, the strategic implication is a potential shift in the laptop market and software model—especially for organizations already invested in Android—but adoption will hinge on whether the app ecosystem, desktop usability, security controls, and manageability can meet enterprise expectations at prices that now overlap with mainstream Windows and macOS devices.
