Apple will let EU apps use less-alarming tracking-consent screens
Apple is changing App Tracking Transparency for apps distributed in select EU countries, allowing developers to use alternative consent screens with softer wording, revised buttons, and more explanatory links. For CIOs and technology leaders, this is both a regulatory and revenue issue: it may improve user opt-in rates for ad-supported apps, but it also adds regional complexity to mobile consent workflows, privacy governance, and product design across European markets. IT organizations will need to manage country-specific implementation, ensure legal/compliance alignment, and adapt analytics and personalization strategies to a more fragmented consent model.
