Google Sheets gets a Gemini upgrade you’ll actually use
Google has enhanced Gemini in Google Sheets with AI-powered formula error diagnostics that automatically analyze and fix broken formulas, significantly reducing user friction and enabling more complex spreadsheet work without technical expertise. This capability is rolling out to Business, Enterprise, Education, and AI Pro/Ultra users with expanded usage limits through July 15, 2026, after which standard per-usage limits will apply to non-Expanded Access license holders. For IT organizations, this advancement increases productivity in data-heavy workflows while introducing new licensing considerations and change management requirements as users adopt AI-assisted spreadsheet functions.
For all the improvements that Google has rolled out to Gemini in Google Sheets, there's still a lot more it can do. While Gemini can help create new formulas in spreadsheets, it was of little help if you ran into an error when manually entering a formula. That's changing now, with Gemini in Google Sheets now capable of helping you troubleshoot formula errors.
